Board of Education News....

Recently, Mrs. Walker, the District Administrator, has expressed a desire to return to the classroom as a teacher. The Board of Education is pleased to announce that starting as of the 2012-2013 academic year she will serve as a Reading Specialist.  We welcome her back to the classroom with her teaching skills.

In that light, the Board of Education has launched an aggressive search for a new District Administrator.  We have retained the services of WASB, a consulting organization, that specializes in assisting school boards with the search for the administrator position. The search will involve numerous meetings, both staff and community focus groups and executive board meetings.  Thank you for your patience and interest as we go through this process.

The North Cape Board of Education thanks all of those who were able to attend the staff and community focus groups on Monday, May 7, 2012.  Each group provided helpful input that will be used in the preparation of candidate profiles and essay questions.

North Cape School District Named a Milwaukee Magazine Best School

In Milwaukee Magazines, April 2012 issue, North Cape School was ranked #7 amongst the top ten "Top Scorers."  Milwaukee Magazine ranked K-8 performance of 54 districts based on their standardized test scores in math and reading from the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Examination (WKCE).

The magazine also ranked school districts based on Overperformers and Underperformers.  The ranking is based on  a connection between students who receive free and reduced priced lunch, an indicator of poverty, and student WKCE math and reading scores.  North Cape School ranked #4 as an Overperformer.
