Open Enrollment

1.) Email/Call Enrollment specialists, Melissa Holden, at mholden@northcape.k12.wi.us with your interest.

2.) The enrollment specialists will need the student(s) name, date of birth, previous school district, legal guardian name, primary address, and proof of residency (Copy of current utility bill, lease/tax bill)

3.) The enrollment specialist will start the pre-registration process. A student who transfers into North Cape will be put in the respective grade based on their credit attainment at the previous school(s). Official school records from previously attended schools will be requested by your new school.

4.) Once you hear from the enrollment specialist, you will receive instructions on how to create your Parent Portal in PowerSchool to complete the pre-registration process.

5.) You will also receive instructions on how to pay fees. This Parent Portal will also allow you to view students' grades, check attendance, and add money to your student's lunch account.

You may enroll your child in North Cape whether you reside within the district boundaries. We welcome all open enrollment applications during the state-wide enrollment window and also during the alternative process as well. Please visit this link if you would like to review the application or learn more and apply.

Can Open Enrollment Applications be Denied?

Both the nonresident and resident school districts may deny an application for reasons specified in state law.  If an application is denied by either the resident or nonresident school district, the parent may file an appeal with the DPI within 30 days. The DPI is required to affirm the school district’s decision unless the DPI determines that the decision was arbitrary or unreasonable.

Facts about Attendance/Truancy

A nonresident school district may deny a pupil’s open enrollment if that pupil was habitually truant from that district in any semester of the current or preceding school year. The nonresident district may not deny open enrollment based on the pupil’s truancy from another school district.

A nonresident district may terminate a pupil’s open enrollment in the succeeding semester or school year if the pupil is habitually truant during either semester in the current school year.
