My name is Katie Witzeling and I am the School Counselor. I am at North Cape school all day on Monday and Wednesday and on Friday from 12:15-3:45PM.  I work at Washington-Caldwell school the other days. I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from UW-Stevens Point and my Master's degree in School Counseling from UW-Oshkosh. I began my career in 1994 in the Sheboygan School District before relocating to Fox Point - Bayside School District. I have also worked in Michigan and Pennsylvania. This will be my eleventh year working at Washington - Caldwell and North Cape.

The main components of the Wisconsin Comprehensive School Counseling Model include classroom lessons, individual counseling and group counseling. I teach classroom guidance lessons to grades K-8 on a weekly basis. Some of the topics we discuss include conflict resolution, anger management, emotions, friendship, making good decisions and careers. I meet with students individually at the request of parents, teachers/staff or the student. Small group experiences focus on such topics as grief, divorce, friendship, social skills or anger management.

My goal is to help your child be successful both academically and personally so please feel free to call me or stop in if you have any questions or concerns about your child. Together we can make their experience here a positive one!
