I am Ms. Schaefer, the kindergarten teacher at North Cape School. I grew up in Rochester, WI with my parents, younger brother, and younger sister. Our family later increased with the coming of an AFS sister from Brazil. After graduating from Waterford High School, I attended the Racine-Kenosha Teachers' College in Union Grove. I continued on to earn a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I have worked at North Cape for many years in the primary section. I love sharing my collection of childrens' books each year with the new kindergarten.

I continue to live in Rochester with Grandma Schaefer and our cat, Baby.  Grandma is a volunteer at our school. My son, Jeremy, graduated from North Cape School. Presently, he is attending the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.  He is working to earn his doctorate in bio-med engineering. Outside of school, I spend as much time as possible with my family. I also like to read mystery stories, crochet afghans, and bake chocolate chip walnut cookies.
